Charlie Bear (41)

Charlie Bear here. Back when Mom Peep had that horrible first year with me she lost her beloved big dog Rex and also her Mom. (When all of that happened, I’d run to the top of the sofa with my stuffed turtle or squirrel and wait things out.) Her mom lived up in Wisconsin, where many of her family lives and where she had an early Christmas with loved ones this year.

Now, her heart is back in Wisconsin, but not her body. She’s here, but kind of not here. And that’s why I’m writing today–to ask all of you to help Mom Peep.

See, her little 6-week-old Great-Grandbaby Hailey has been in the hospital since Friday fighting a terrible respiratory infection, pneumonia, and potential organ shut-down. Tiny Hailey’s lungs and heart and kidneys are compromised and she’s fighting for her life. Mom Peep is so very proud of Hailey’s mommy and daddy. They have been wonderful parents and there was no way of knowing this was coming.

What Mom is having trouble with is she isn’t there. She can’t go to the hospital, hold vigil by Hailey’s bedside, hug Nick and Kaitlyn, provide comfort in any way. She texts, and phones, and watches the Caring Bridge site CONSTANTLY for updates. She prays nonstop and writes notes of encouragement on the Caring Bridge site.

Many of you have gone through something like this. Any words of advice for Mom? She would greatly appreciate it.

Wiggles of love to you and kiss your loved ones extra long tonight,
Charlie Bear

P.S. If you go to the www.caringbridge.org site and you want to watch Hailey’s progress you have to sign in and then look up Hailey Bruley. Mom appreciates ALL prayers.

Any suggestions for Mom?

    BJ,
My Love and Prayers go out to you, the family and Charlie Bear. It’s a very difficult time Y’all are going through. I ask the Lord to give you and the family strength just like He has given me. I too lost a Little Angel, she would be turning 15 on Sunday (01/06) born premature she was 11 days old when she passed into a better life with no pain. Your family now has an Angel watching overY’all. Sending Y’all hugs from Apollo (my German Shepherd) and myself. Prayers are being sent to you and Hailey’s parents. Hug Charlie Bear, he knows you’re hurting and is eager to give you extra Love. 🙂 May God be with Y’all!!!

    Love,
    Janie & Apollo

BJ, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your whole family. Know that the angels are looking over Hailey, protecting her. Wrap your arms around yourself and squeeze. That’s me and Clue sending you a big hug. Cuddle Charlie Bear and believe that soon it will be Hailey.

This post grabbed my heart and won’t let go. I can’t imagine how you must feel, B.J. Sometimes it helps me to picture angels posted around those we love. Right now, in my mind, I’m seeing a whole host of angels around baby Hailey–her mom, her dad, and you too.

    I’m praying moment by moment.

    I love you, my friend.

Angels have been fluttering around Hailey since she was born. Now she is up in heaven as one of God’s own angels. Thank you for your unceasing prayers.

Dear BJ, My Sonia had pneumonia at 5 weeks ,it was touch and go but she got well. I was 15 and I never left her side. Love is great medicine. There is no time or space in the spirit ,so we will all send our love. Jesus sent His Word to heal her.We send our love to her parents and you. The joy of the Lord is your strength.

BJ, I will be praying for little Hailey and all those who love her. I am praying as I write this. Know that God is with you and Hailey. Take care of yourself so you can be with Hailey and her parents via phone and other means. It will mean a lot to them, even though you aren’t physically there…Cuddle up with Charlie to relax a little.
