It’s been a little while now since I posted and to be honest with you, I miss it! Today is the two-month anniversary of losing the big dog Rex. Mom and Dad talk about him all the time, and that’s okay with me. They’re pointing out all the things I’ve learned from him. Guess a lot of stuff rubbed off on me.

I was just wondering if it would be okay with you if I posted like once a week? We wrapped up the long storyline of my Life Before Adoption and Life After Adoption, but there are other things I’d like to share, like how Mom and Dad are doing, how I’m doing (I’ve been here 9 1/2 months), and what life is like now for this rescue-who-turned-into-a-foster-who-turned-into-an-adopted-dog-in-a-forever-home. (Boy, that was a mouthful!)

If you’d give me a “thumbs-up” on Facebook, or comment on this blog post, that would be really cool–then I could tell Mom to keep writing for me.

Woofs and Wiggles to you all,
Charlie Bear

      Susan and Rascal,
Thanks even for the THOUGHT of giving me ten thumbs-ups on Facebook! Your comment here, though, keeps me going. I’ll stay cool and keep Mom typing.

Good to hear from you, Charlie Bear! You and your mom write whenever you can. You’re in my thoughts as you and your mom and dad heal from the loss of Rex. The Chis: Zoe, Lucy, and Emily, all say hi!

Hi Zoe, Lucy, Emily and Mom Barbara,
Thanks for your concern about all of us. They say time heals, and I guess that’s mostly true. There are good days and then there are sad days. I try to make them laugh, especially Mom, because she misses Rex being around her all day here in the house. Yesterday, I chased her around the yard. She thought it was to give me exercise, but really it was to make her smile. : )

Does leaving a comment here and on Facebook tell you i’d like you to keep going? i love hearing what’s up with you, and believe it or not, reading your thoughts helps me understand Sadie and Shadow better, two dogs (i guess you’d call them rescue dogs, even though they were the ones to find me, and make this their forever home.)

      Marianne,
I’ll tell Mom to keep posting for me. I push my cold, wet nose into her leg once in a while. It startles her, and often she reaches down, picks me up, puts me on her lap and then lets me settle in while she throws her arms around me and types on the keyboard. Sometimes I let out a long sigh as I rest my head on the top of her desk. Is this heaven or what?
Tell Sadie and Shadow “woof woof” for me.
      Wiggles,
      Charlie Bear

Charlie Bear, The plain horse facts about all of this is that I am SO glad your peep has decided to let you post again. Frankly, even though my mom is a horse lover, she keeps telling me that your blog is one of her all-time favorites, especially when you put your pictures on there. I love you, Charlie Bear. Please come back to us.
    Yours truly, Honey Bunny

      Honey Bunny,
Nice to hear from you! Tell your horse mom “I’m BAAAACCCKKKK,” and she’ll have to keep reading you my blog posts. I’ll try not to be too overwhelming, but I still have some stuff to chew on and share. Thanks for the vote of thumbs-up!

Whoo hoo, Charlie Bear! I was really disappointed when I thought my mom had read your very last post to me. I have really enjoyed your adventures as I am a fellow rescue who has also recently found his forever home as well. I was so sad when big dog Rex went over the rainbow bridge, but I am very happy that you are going to continue to post. It’s great to hear another dog’s point of view. Sure beats talking to all these cats my mom has living with us.

    Your pal,
    Jake

      Jake,
I hear you about the cats. I have one that bugs the heck out of me. He stares down from atop a high wall in the backyard, knowing full well I can’t reach him. But I try. I wonder how many cats you have to put up with? There were two that lived here in my house but they passed away right before I came here. Glad you have a forever home, like me.
      Stay in touch.
      Wiggles and woofs,

It’s three cats, CB. Piper is the old girl cat, she’s kind of fiesty and then there are the two young girls, Abby the diva and Mikka. Don’t tell anyone, but Mikka is my buddy. We play a lot when no one is looking and sometimes we snuggle in the big chair together for a nap.

          Jake,
Three, huh? You’re outnumbered! I hear that when people get old they get crochety. Maybe Piper is like that. I won’t tell anyone that you snuggle with Mikka. It’s our secret.
Woofs to you (shhh….don’t tell the diva),

      Dear Sara/Foster Mom,
I miss you! I think about you, and all the wonderful things you did to help me to get over my wild ways of living with abandon on the street. Thanks for being my angel! I’ll tell mom it’s a thumbs-up from you.
