Gobble, gobble. Yum, yum. Turkey day was fantastic! Was it good for you too?

Mom Peep says it was a special deal and not to expect that all the time. The house smelled delicious. The table was set up extra pretty. There were more people around than usual. I loved it all.

How come we can’t have this atmosphere all the time?

Mom says it can’t be that way every day because it’s too much work. Heck, if it means more morsels for me, I’d help her. I could peel potatoes, mix up the stuffing in a big bowl, bake an apple pie from scratch. Yup, I could.

Well, maybe not.

So I’ll be content to take extra special days when they come and I’ll enjoy them in their entirety when they are here. I love all the extra attention paid to me. I didn’t know which lap to jump on first! And I love how the boys played with me. I even slept with one.

I hear there’s another big celebration coming next month. I promised Mom I’d pitch in and help, even if it means just staying out from underfoot. She loves seeing all of her loved ones, and I love seeing her happy. Come on Christmas, get here soon.

Wiggles and woofs to you all for a VERY HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON.

    Dear Fritz,
As long as your goose is cooked…ummmm…I mean your turkey is cooked, you can eat it just like Peeps can. I’d probably say not too much of it, but that’s true in all things, right? Moderation is key, that’s what my Mom Peep says.
Happy Turkey Eating to you, Fritz.

      Skippy and Bailey,
Frozen turkey thawed out is as good as the frozen bird thawed and then cooked, right? Should be yummy morsels for both of you for the next month like you said. Yummy, yummy in your tummy. Have a super great Holiday with your Mom Peep.

So happy you enjoyed your first THanksgiving with your peeps. I love it, too. Especially all those extra people to pet and hug you. But just wait until Christmas. If you’re really good, you get your very own stocking, with your name on it, full of tennis balls, toys and treats. Just don’t pull the lights off the tree or eat Santa’s cookies and you’ll be fine (I did that my first year, but Santa still left my stocking – guess he knew I hadn’t been out of the shelter very long.).

      Chauncey,
Wow. Even though you pulled lights off the tree and ate Santa’s cookies he was still good to you. You’re lucky! And your Peeps must love you very much. It takes a lot for them to love us when we aren’t putting out the best behavior. I have to give it to them…they have patience. I can’t wait for Christmas!

Tee hee hee, Charlie Bear, I STAYED in trouble all night Wednesday night and all morning Thursday. I was so close on my mom’s heels that she kept tripping over me and sending me out of the kitchen. I’d go for a few minutes and then when she wasn’t looking I’d sneak back in under the table. But before too long, the smells were so good that I couldn’t help myself. I was back on her heels and getting in the way again. I don’t think she was TOO mad at me though. After the peeps were done eating, my kitty pal, Mikka and I, got lots of turkey bits. I don’t understand why the other two cats won’t eat it, (they only eat cat food!!!) but hey, that’s just that much more for Mikka and me! There are still a few turkey leftovers in the fridge, I can smell them, so I’m hoping for a few more nibbles before it’s all gone. I can’t wait until next month!!

And it WAS lots of fun having a house full of people who played tug-o-war and fetch with me all afternoon! I think I really understand about this Thanksgiving stuff and all the things we have to be thankful for, don’t you?

    Later, Charlie Bear!

    Your pal,
    Jake

      Hey there, Jake,
I can smell turkey leftovers in the fridge too! I don’t have any cats like Mikka around to share with so I’m hoping I get some turkey tidbits in the next few days all for myself. And I get you about understanding this Thanksgiving stuff. It’s not about a golden roasted bird, or sweet potatoes or stuffing. It’s about loving each other and enjoying each day with loved ones. You’ve got it, Jake!
      Woofs and wiggles to you,
      Charlie Bear

Hey, Charlie…It’s Fritz. Tell me how you got any morsels. I went with my Mom’s Mimi and her sister Susan to a Thanksgiving Dinner. There was a big dog named Candy who tried to get on the table. Neither of us got any goodies. Susan doesn’t know if real turkey is good for dogs. Is it? It smelled so good!
        Fritz.
