Christmas 2012 (59)

Charlie Bear here. Mom Peep is back from her trip to Wisconsin to be with her family and to attend the funeral of little six-week-old Baby Hailey, Mom’s Great-Grandchild. She whispered in my ear that it was the hardest thing she has ever had to go through…to see the parents consumed with so much sadness and pain. She was so glad she was there to hug them, cry with them, listen to them, support them. That’s what family is for.

So now she’s back. She still gets misty and the tears still fall. I have a feeling that might be off and on for a very long while. Grief takes a long time and you all have to find your own way through the pain. I’m planning on loving Mom extra much as she takes it one day at a time.

There is something that will do Mom Peep a lot of good. She has a trip coming up with Dad next month. They planned it a long time ago. She also did an article for www.americanpetmagazine.com last year that is now out. In it, Mom talks about not only our CHARLIE BEAR book, but also about planning for the care of your pets when you go away.

See Page 11 in: http://www.americanpetmagazine.com/V2_Issue1.pdf and Page 14 for more on me (lol). P.S. It takes a while to load…but it’s worth it.

Did you make any plans yet for travel this year? You might want to read Mom’s article to find out how to feel at peace and reassured that your pets are well taken care.

So Happy New Year to everyone from me, Charlie Bear. Mom and I know that Baby Hailey is up in heaven with God, so we’re going to rejoice that she is by His side. So Mom Peep says Happy New Year too and hug all your loved ones tight, tight, tight.

Wiggles & Woofs,
Charlie Bear

    There are many reasons to take days only one at a time…To keep from worrying is one. Take care.

    B.J. and Charlie Bear, I know both of you are glad to see each other again, and you are glad to be back home. It will take a long time to heal from the loss of your great grandaughter ‘Peanut Face’s’ passing but it will get some better as time goes by, and as you get involved in other activities and daily things. Go ahead and take that vacation and trip and rest and do not get yourself involved in anything more stressful than the necessary activities from day to day things you have to do, maybe take Charlie Bear with you to keep both of you cheerful if you can do that. Beaugie and I have a little song to sing to you, it is not my own but it has meant the world to me at times of stress and cares of life that always comes along at times of our lives. This song was written by:- Chris Christofferson, (sp.)

    ~~~ONE DAY AT A TIME~~~
    1- I’M ONLY HUMAN,
    I’M JUST A WOMAN,
    LORD HELP ME TO BE IN ALL I CAN BE,
    AND JUST AS I AM,
    SHOW ME THE STAIRWAYS, I HAVE TO CLIMB,
    THEN, LORD FOR MY SAKE, TEACH ME TO TAKE,
    ‘ONE DAY AT A TIME’..
    2- LORD; DO YOU REMEMBER, WHEN YOU WALKED AMONG
    MEN?
    WELL, JESUS YOU KNOW,
    IF YOU’RE LOOKING BELOW, IT’S WORSE NOW THAN THEN,
    PUSHING AND SHOVING; VIOLENCE AND CRIME;
    SO FOR MY SAKE, TEACH ME TO TAKE,
    ‘ONE DAY AT A TIME’..
    CHORUS::
    “ONE DAY AT A TIME, SWEET JESUS”,
    THATS ALL I’M ASKING FROM YOU;
    LORD, GIVE ME THE STRENGTH,
    TO DO EVERY DAY,
    WHAT I HAVE TO DO;
    YESTERDAYS’ GONE, SWEET JESUS;
    AND TOMORROW MAY NEVER BE MINE;
    SO, FOR MY SAKE, TEACH ME TO TAKE;
    ~~ ONE DAY AT A TIME,~~ ONE DAY AT A TIME~~~~
    B.J., You and Charlie Bear please do not listen to my & Beaugies singing now; just listen to the words; LOL!!
    They are sooo heartlifting..
    Woofs, hugs and wiggles;
    Alice and Beaugie.
      Alice and Beaugie,
      How very beautiful. How mellow the words, how strong the sentiments, how beautiful the meaning. Thank you SO VERY MUCH for sharing with us that heartlifting song.
      Wiggles to you both as we travel this road.
      Love,
      Charlie Bear and B.J.
    Hi BJ & Charlie Bear!!!
    BJ how are you? I wrote to you after Baby Hailey went to Heaven and mentioned I too had lost an Angel 15 years ago. I know it’s a tremendous pain that really no one knows what you’re going through unless, they themselves have been through that painful road. I found aome comfort attending The Compassionate Friends support groups.They have chapters in all states and you can get more info a CompassionateFriends.Org You might have heard of them, they are a support group for grieving families after the loss of a child. Just a suggestion, 🙂 sometimes it helps to talk to someone going through or who has gone through what you feeling now. My Love and Prayers to you and the Family. May God continue to give you strength.
    Love,
    Janie & Apollo
    P.S. LOVE YOU CHARLIE BEAR!!!
      Janie,
      We are so sorry that you lost a little angel 15 years go. Mom remembers reading your post about how your angel had a birthday coming up, right?
      How wonderful that you told us about CompassionateFriends.org! Thank you! Mom Peep is going to tell Kaitlyn and Nick about it for sure. Maybe it can help them with their grief.
      Much love to you and we hold you close in our heart as well,
      Charlie Bear and B.J.
      Jean,
      Mom Peep has always been a positive-and-forward-looking person so it is with love in her heart that she puts angel wings around Baby Hailey and remembers her loving face in heaven now. She’s going to try to find a frame of wings that she can put a 5×7 picture into and put that in a special place. She will always hold Hailey as her very first great-grandchild in her heart.
      Thank you for writing to us.
      Wiggles and woofs,
      Charlie Bear
    Charlie Bear, I know my mom has been keeping your mom peep in her prayers. She said she can’t imagine the heartache your mom peep’s family is going through. We are all so glad she has you there to give her lots of love.
    My mom was really excited this Christmas to receive a Kindle gift card as one of her Christmas presents. One of the first books she downloaded was the one your mom peep wrote about you! She really liked it and I was so glad she finally got to read it. She’s been wanting to ever since it first came out. (She gave it a good review, too!)
    As far as when my mom goes on a trip, we have it made. My mom has a grown son who comes and stays with us the whole time she is gone. He is a really good son and we all love him. (Not as much as mom, but don’t tell him. He really tries hard.)
    Mom knows how much we miss her when she is gone and she doesn’t want to disrupt our lives any more than necessary so this works well for us. Her son did tell her she can’t add anymore new additions because it’s all he can do to take care of the five of us. She just laughed. But I don’t think she will adopt anyone else any time soon. She said she has her hands full with me, Kenzie and the three cats, but we are worth it. I think we are, too!
    Take care, Charlie Bear, and take care of your mom peep. Give her extra woofs and wiggles from me.
    Your pal,
    Jake
      Jake,
      Mom Peep told me about your Mom’s stellar review of our book! Thank her with extra wiggles and woofs from me to her. We love it when people love our book and take the time to write about it.
      I think you’ve got it made in the shade with the family member who comes to pet you, feed you, love up on you and Kenzie and the three cats. What a catch.
      Wiggles back at ya,
      Charlie Bear
