Charlie Bear here with that age-old question. Do you ever look back?
Ever wonder what it would be like if something was different? Like if you made a different choice, took a different road, walked a different path?
Six years ago my Dad and Mom Peep adopted me. I was just over 1 and a complete mess. A total chaotic, spinning, barking, untouchable, temper-tantrum mess.
Here’s a video Mom Peep took of me one day: Charlie Bear Spinning
Today, I’m a lot more mellow. I love to be touched and even elicit attention from strangers (as long as they don’t rub my bum…still touchy there). I hardly bark unless it’s to announce people or to scare off a possum or raccoon (hey, a guy’s gotta defend his territory).
I admit I still throw a temper tantrum or two. Usually when I’m over tired and cranky. Mom Peep gives me a time out in my room and I fall asleep right away.
When I wake up, I’m good!
So now I’m 7. My life didn’t get this way with a snap of the fingers. Nope. It took hard work and tons of smart choices.
Like giving me time and patience while I adopted to my new routine; like understanding my history and memories of the past; like allowing me to spin out once in a while as long as I didn’t hurt myself or others.
Yup, when I look back I realize I’ve got it good. So good.
How about you? What do you see when you look back? Have you had difficult choices? How did you get where you are now or what are you still facing in terms of choices and paths?

Charlie Bear, I’m learning to look back at my choices and be gentle with myself. I believe God works His beautiful way despite our choices!!!
I’m so grateful your Mom Peep fell head over heels in love with you.
Mom Peep kisses me on the nose sometimes and tells me she loves me. Sweet, sweet music to my ears! She makes choices every day, and sometimes they aren’t the best ones, but like you, she is gentle with herself.
Wiggles to you,
Charlie Bear
