Wow. Charlie Bear here. I’m sitting pretty–coasting into my one-year anniversary this weekend of being in my forever home (more on that in another post). Mom Peep had me up on her lap this morning and we were checking out Facebook when we saw this. It’s truly something, and I had to share it with you.

I have the utmost respect for this dog and what he did out there on the freeway. (Click on the link below to view the 51 second footage.)

Sometimes people wonder if dogs have brains…or smarts…or if they think. I’d check off YES to all three. How about you?

A shout-out to Gary Edwards for posting this video. You just can’t say enough about us dogs. We’re the best, aren’t we?

Woofs & Wiggles to you,
Charlie Bear

    Dear Charlie Bear,
It’s Rowdy and Oreo again and that was one awesome video! We take care of our mom, too. She has really bad diabetes and we are not sure how, but we can tell when her blood sugar goes to high or too low and we get in her face and whine and use our paws to wake her if she is sleeping or we just keep ourselves in her face til she finally realizes how sick she is and we wait right there with her til she checks her blood sugar and takes an insulin shot or eats something, and then we go back and play and about every 30 minutes, we check on her just to make sure she is ok! She’s our Mom and she takes care of us and we love her and we take care of her. We have been with her almost 3 years now and we try to be good kids because she has so many health problems and she needs us as much as we need her. We were just a few weeks old when we came to live with her. She was sad then because her other doggie child had gotten killed, but we made her so happy and a nice lady drove us over 200 miles and gave us to her even though most others had to pay over $400 for our brothers and sisters and when we came, it turned out to be on her birthday, so we were like a special birthday present even though the lady that gave us to her didn’t even know it was Moms birthday/ Mom always has said we really are her Guardian Angels! We even sleep with her in bed and we cuddle a lot even though we are super jealous of each other, but Mom tries real hard to let us know she loves us both.
Thanks for sharing that video – regular peeps just dont understand our capacity to love them and each other, but we do have real feelings!

      Dear Oreo and Rowdy,
Sounds like you take VERY good care of your mommy. Debbie must love you both to pieces. And what a fantastic birthday present you were to her! You are even saving her life, just like Guardian Angels do.
I’d say that you agree then: we do have brains, smarts and we even think! You guys sure do!
Best of wishes for keeping your mom healthy and happy. GIve her extra kisses and keep her blood sugar just right.
Woofs & many wiggles to you,
      Charlie Bear

What a great video, Charlie Bear! You and I know how smart we are, but this dog had guts, too! Thanks so much for sharing with us.

    Your pal,
    Jake

      Jake,
That dog did have major guts! I don’t know if I could have raced out in between zooming cars, even for a fellow furry friend! I suppose I could have, but this dog deserves a medal in my book (and a HUGE amount of moist and meaty dog food for dinner tonight).
      Good to hear from you.
      Woofs & wiggles,
      Charlie Bear
