TAYLOR’S TIPS for a more productive you…

I wonder sometimes if I’m doing things right. Life seems to be on a fast train to who-knows-where and I wonder if I’ve done what I should, tried enough things, lived a good Christian life.

I do know one thing: I love. This, and many other things:

Balance is the key. In everything you do.
Dance all night long and practice yoga the next day.
Drink wine but don’t forget your green juice.
Eat chocolate when your heart wants it
and kale salad when your body needs it.
Wear high heels on Saturday and walk barefoot
on Sunday. Live high and low. Move and stay still.
Embrace all sides of who you are. Be brave, bold,
spontaneous and loud and let that complement
your abilities to find silence, patience, modesty and peace.
Aim for balance. Make your own rules and
follow your own path and don’t let anybody
tell you how to live according to theirs.
………………………………………Rachel Brathen

I loved this the moment I read it online. I think Rachel Brathen is a yoga instructor, but I feel we can all embrace this philosophy. They say moderation in all things is crucial, but I agree with Rachel that stepping out and having fun, doing things that are out of our comfort zone, is a good thing. In moderation…lol.

Those many other things I love? Here they are:

God
Family
Friends
Pets
Writing
Sharing
Laughing
Dancing
Singing
Loving

four hearts

Because I love you all so much, I just had to share Rachel’s thoughts. Maybe you can make them your own in an individual way. Just like I did.

Sometimes I think as writers we give it our ALL and forget that there are other things in life that are important too. Especially when we have high hopes and they get dashed. Rachel’s first sentence is everything for me. And I’m working on it all the time now.

How about you? Would you like to share YOUR loves? Reply back with your own list and let’s see how many match up with others.

Hugs and love, and blessings on your work.

Follow your dreams…

What’s Going On:

Knee bandage

A little knee surgery is in order for this chickie. Tomorrow, Friday July 31, I’ll be undergoing an arthroscopy to take care of a torn meniscus in my right knee. Recovery should be quick, but I’m saying lots of prayers. No surgery is ever taken lightly (especially when you aren’t a young chickie anymore), so additional prayers are very much appreciated. Thank you!

Writing Right

By Rev. Dr.Opal Mae Dailey on July 2, 2015

Format: Paperback Verified Purchase

I love the way BJ laid out P Ms to a T. It is just in time for me to use in a new project I have started. “Precept upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little. Ish. 28:10.” I love that scripture and I love this new book. There seems to be something for every level in spite of the simplicity of it. Thanks BJ Love ya, Rev. Charlie Bear, Best of Two Worlds

By Dee Aspìn on June 10, 2015

Format: Kindle Edition

Great Packed little Book!!!! Charlie Bear is a cute little difficult handful! BJ writes beautifully as you feel her walking through life adjusting to Charlie. Turning the pages, I learned a lot through methods she shared and used to tame and earn trust from Charlie Bear. The fun twist throughout the book is the other voice– Charlie Bear’s, so we view Charlie’s side of adjusting to his new home. Two worlds, two perspectives, BJ’s and Charlie’s.

It’s encouraging and entertaining to walk through the adjustments each family member and pet makes by bringing in little Charlie. Wow. With honesty and candor BJ shares the difficulties and doubts to overcome as Charlie Bear’s quirks and daily disturbances create challenges beyond the norm. Patience and perseverance are the fuel to keep moving forward in dealing with annoying and aggressive behavior “issues” … BJ also shares significant losses in her life, both pet and human with sad honesty and the thread of the divine comfort of God.

I have already recommended this book to strangers who have experienced the grief of pet loss as BJ shares the daunting of losing a pet and family member at the same time. If you don’t want to cry, skip those parts, but if it helps you or others to process the emotions of losing a beloved pet…do yourself a favor or someone you know…and get a copy!

Love, love this post!! And one I probably should read daily. 🙂 I’ve been there with my writing, when it took over my life and become way too important.

Thanks for the beautiful reminder. Writing isn’t my God.

    xoxo
