TAYLOR’S TIPS for a more productive you…

Do you ever feel like quitting? I do.

Sometimes I get in a funk: I’m not good enough as a writer; I stink as a wife; I’m not a great cook. And those are all true at some points in my life. Not all the time…but sometimes.

Here’s what I live by (and if you called me on the phone and asked me for this poem I could recite it to you word-for-word, that’s how much I live by it):

Don't Quit

You can find varied versions of this Don’t Quit poem on the internet. But that’s my favorite.

hang in there words

Have you ever wanted to quit? What is one goal you’d like to achieve by the end of the year? Tell me yours and I’ll tell you mine.

Do it Don't Quit

Hugs and love, and blessings on your work.

Follow your dreams…

What’s Going On:

Is it chillin’ time? Feels like it. Summer is definitely here. But I made a move to the desert from a beach address and it’s HOT!  Last month we took a road trip to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. What a lovely place. Ever been there? We’re also taking a few days in Pismo Beach to see friends and a two-night getaway up in Big Bear. Anything to get out of the 110+ heat in Palm Desert. Ahhhh….Life is good!

Going on any trips yourself? Share where you’re headed.

Later on in October, I’ll be at the HACWN / Heart of America Christian Writers Network Conference. It runs October 20-22 in a suburb of Kansas. Oh, yes, click my heels and take me to Kansas! Check out the details here: www.hacwn.org

5 out of 5 stars A Quick Easy Read With Real Content You Can Use
By Evelyn Mann on March 6, 2016

“Who doesn’t want a formula…a secret to help you write stories to touch the heart of readers? This book delivers the secret sauce of successfully sharing personal true stories with the world. I can’t wait to put this formula into practice. Reading this book is like having a one on one with the author, B.J. Taylor. Her easy going, friendly writing style makes you feel as if you are with her in person. Published in 2015, I liked the fresh new content she shares. I especially appreciated the examples used to perfectly show her points. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to know how to submit true personal stories to places like Guideposts and Chicken Soup For The Soul. I think you’ll find this book a wealth of information which will encourage you to get to your computer and implement this formula to success.”

5.0 out of 5 stars He grips your heart
By Amazon Customer on May 4, 2016

“Charlie-Bear grips your heart with delightful details that bring about emotions that only a four-legged creature can. The author gives him a voice with a unique flair and style that reveals Charlie-Bear’s warm perspective of the world around him. The trials, the ups and downs and the happy times of life are etched as unforgettable memories because of a love, the unconditional love of this beautiful dog. The reader will find a moving illustration of second chances and the power of restoration a life can have.”—Janet Perez Eckles

B.J. I have sort of been out of pocket most all summer from health and other issues so probably have missed some of your posts. but will get back in stride soon, I hope… How is CB doing with the hot weather? It has been hot here also, into the 100+ at times but it is beginning to cool down some now.. Beaugie is doing well and enjoys his daily walks in spite of the heat, he sits down, pants awhile then gets up ready to go again. He never meets a stranger, so surely hope he never gets loose from his lease and gets away as he has done in the past a couple of times; we would take the car and go hunt him and when he saw us he would come to the car and jump right in it… # Silly Dog!!
So you have moved into a newer home for you? Hope you enjoy it… ooo & xxx for CB

      Beaugie and Alice,

Charlie Bear doesn’t like the hot weather. It’s been over 100 every day, but in the morning it’s only 70 or 80 so we go out then and get our exercise, just like you two do. Afternoons are for staying inside for sure!

He likes the newer house. It has some big tall windows that go all the way down to six inches from the floor. He looks right out at the world now and loves that part!

Stay cool and healthy and happy!

I needed those words: my wrist and back hurt while my house and files are a wreck! Thank you for the post.
[I am missing my childhood dog Rascal whose licks healed many a pain. How is your Charlie?]

      Hi Susan,
I love all followers, writer and non-writer alike. I hear you about aches and pains. My knee hurts sporadically ever since I had surgery; my elbow hurts all the time after I fractured it a few years ago, and let’s not talk about all the rest! I’m a wreck, but I’m not quitting, and I’m glad to hear you aren’t either.
Sorry Rascal’s not there to lick your pain. Charlie Bear is doing very well. We’ve gone on a few adventures this summer and he takes it all in stride. What a trooper. Thanks for asking about him! And good luck with your files and house! P.S. They’re just files and just a house. Not people (or even pets), so they don’t come first. You do!
      All the best,
      B.J.
