Charlie Bear here…with an acknowledgement to those of you who really are one-handed or who are challenged in other ways. This one is my Mom Peep. She fractured her elbow so she’s doing everything one-handed: dressing, fixing morning coffee, brushing her teeth and typing left-handed. It’s a challenge.
So I’ve decided that I’m a therapy dog. I snuggle by her and try to comfort her. What do you do, people and dogs alike, when someone you love is hurting or struggling?

Ever Been One-Handed?
Don’t know how this blog got all mixed up or did you injure the same one in the same way again? Yes; mom Peeps is right handed also, but she can manage to do a little with my dominant right hand to help her left one out., My right wrist has had a visit from uncle Arthur for a long time and we nor Drs. can’t get him to leave so she wears a splint on it which she can take on & off when it gets bothersome to her, it helps the pain a lot, but she does most things with her left one, just as your peeps does. Keep her under control C.B. & watch over her good and i’ll try to do the same to my peeps.
Happy Nursing to you,
Beaugie.
Beaugie,
Nope, Mom Peep did not reinjure her arm. She’s good now (though it aches her a bit when it rains or she over-exerts — I guess like your Mom Peep).
I’m taking good care of her, like you do!
Wiggles and woofs,
Charlie Bear
Did she take the cast off?Hope she feels better and doesnt have any pain.
alex21,
Yes, she did get the cast off…sooner than expected! She’s doing really well and has only a little residual pain (like when she over-exerts or it rains).
Wiggles and woofs to you,
Charlie Bear
So sorry for your Mom Peep, Charlie Bear! I’m Oreo and I also take good care of my Mom Peep who is sick a lot. I can tell when her blood sugar goes too high or too low and I remind her to check it. My Dad Peep has seizures and I stay with hlm when that happens to him. So I have a big job, just like you do. Keep up the good work CB!
Woofs and Wiggles,
Oreo (best friend to Debbie & David)
Oreo,
You wonderful dog, you. So great that you can help both your Mom and Dad Peeps.
Woofs in awe of you!
Charlie Bear
I hate to ask, but is your Mom right-handed? If so, she chose the wrong elbow to fracture. OUCH! I can’t imagine how that must have hurt. Take good care of her, Charlie. Our Mom Peep sends her loves and prayers. Skippy and Bailey Hubler
Skippy and Bailey,
Yup, Mom is right-handed. But kind of ambedexterous too like her Mom before her. So she’s pretty good with that lefty.
Woofs to you,
CB
Oh, sorry! Hope you heal well!

Wow, what a bummer! When I had a cut tendon in my right hand in my youth, I was supposed to wear a removable cast on my hand/arm which I ended up ignoring! Just too many things to do….I don’t recommend that and I recommend doing what the doctor orders. Ignoring exercise that he told me to do was bad news….
That said, my Rascal was a real good arm supporter! Keep up the good work, Charlie…..
B, J., take care of yourself no matter what it takes to do it!
Susan
Susan,
Good advice for Mom. I’m working on her!
CB
Charlie Bear, how in the world did she do that? Chasing you with one of your chasing fits, or something else, maybe she does not want to say and under the circumstance that is ok. Take care of both of yourselves and hurry up and get well.
Woofs & Wiggles,
Beaugie & His Peep MoM.
Beaugie,
She slipped on her shiny wood floor. Geez. I try to steal her little footie socks, but she had them on and her feet slid out from under her. Yikes.
Woofs,
Charlie Bear
Oh, dear Mama Peep. We’re so sorry to know of your injury, and we’ll be praying. I agree with Julie, lovely pic. And it looks like you’re in good hands (paws). Love fron the gang.
S,
I give good paws!
Wiggles,
CB
Shocked and sorry, BJ. So glad Charlie Bear is stepping up to his new snuggler responsibilities–you’re the best, Charlie! Pray this won’t change your MH trip…as Dan says, nothing stops you! Heal well and fast, friend.
Jean,
She’s still going. You ever known Mom to stay down and out? But she’s learned a lot..more later on that.
Woofs,
Charlie Bear
So sorry to hear that Mom Peeps has a broken elbow. You take care of her Charlie Bear! Love you both!
Sara,
We love you 2!

Oh, so sorry to hear about your accident! I hope you’re better soon. My Dukie is in training to be a therapy – if we lived closer, we’d come of a visit. He give great healing kisses.
Carlene,
Mom would love Dukie’s kisses. Thank you for the thought.
Wiggles,
Charlie Bear
Dear BJ, we’re so sorry about your accident (we assume George hasn’t beaten on you.or you on him). We also hope you will still be at MH-knowing you as we do, we’re sure you will be; nothing stops you! Still, we understand the brevity of the current post: much too hard to type everything with one hand, especially the one you don’t “favor.” Lots of love and hugs, and sundaes will be on us, under the circumstances.

Dan,
Mom said she can’t stay away from that hot fudge sundae and you and Kay. She’ll be there.
Woofs to you all,
Charlie Bear
Look at you! Smiling even with your arm all wrapped up. Even this is a great picture of you!! And Charlie Bear looks like he’s all ready for his new job. 🙂
Julie,
I’ve always loved this part of my job. Problem is, Mom usually never stays still enough for me to give her lovin’.
Woofs,
CB
What happened to your Mom, Charlie Bear? I bet she will never have a better therapist than you. Give her extra cuddles from me!
Marilyn,
She slipped and fell. Yuckers. But I’m loving her up.
Woofs,
CB
