Charlie Bear here with Mom Peep who is back to TWO hands! Yes, it was no time at all and her orthopedic doc threw away her splint, told her to use her sling when in crowds to protect that fractured elbow, and to do the things on the sheet he printed for her: Elbow Radial Head Fracture Exercises. She got down on her knees and thanked God that she didn’t have to wear a big ole plaster cast, she could hold a pen, and even type so she could write to you.
But did she learn some lessons from being one-handed? You bet she did. Like how to let others help you. How to let things be less than perfect. And how much Dad Peep truly loves her. He gave her his all-time favorite sweatshirt to wear when nothing else would fit over her big soft cast. And he hooked and unhooked her bra. (Try doing that with one hand in a sling.)
Me? I totally loved up on Mom Peep…jumping into her lap and snuggling, and licking her face with kisses. I think that’s what caused her to get so far ahead on her healing, don’t you?
So Mom is headed off to her writers conference up near San Jose. She is SO thankful that she has mobility, though she was cautioned: no lifting, no pushing off, no pulling with that hand/arm. It is still sore and hurts her like the dickens sometimes so she takes Tylenol when the pain is bad.
She wants me to thank all of you for your well wishes and prayers–they are helping immensely. She is hopeful her arm and elbow will mend completely as time goes on. I’m hopeful too.
So, tell me, have you learned a lesson lately?
Wiggles and Woofs to you,

Your Mom Peep has the most amazing way of finding good in every single circumstance, CB. That’s one reason I love her! And what a life lesson for all of us–she knelt down to thank God her splint could come off. xo
Julie,
Yup, you should have seen her when the doc threw her splint in the garbage can. She was euphoric. She overdid it a bit the first day and was in incredible pain, but then he told her “moderation” and “find a balance,” and once she did, she’s been healing nicely.

Learn something new? Yes! I learned that you are indeed a miracle healer! Congrats, BJ, on making such good progress–I know Charlie & Dad Peep helped a lot. Remember that bra thing from my broken shoulder–Bill surely does, and doing the back of my hair and helping me dress…we find out wonderful things about those guys of ours, don’t we? Blessed, for sure. Speaking of blessings, have a most fabulous time at MH this weekend and love and kisses to K & D–and YOU, of course.
Jean,
I guess Mom Peep is indeed healing nicely. I do think my licks and kisses and time on her lap are helping. (P.S. That’s where I am right now.) She’ll give hugs and kisses to K & D for you at the conference and soak in all the lessons there that she can.
Wiggles to you,
Charlie Bear
Oh What??? I get the first post answer this time? No not learned anything new today or for several days either. Glad BJ is healed enough to shed that cast, it is surely a job to lug around. So the trip is coming up right away, huh? Hope you will have a big time, learn much but above all enjoy yourself and maybe meet a few new friends. Take care of that Elbow and don’t let anything happen and stir it up again..
Enjoy,
Beaugie.
Hi Beaugie,
Great advice to my Mom Peep to protect that elbow so nothing happens to “stir it up again.” She wouldn’t want that! You kiss and lick your Mom Peep today.
Woofs and wiggles,
Charlie Bear
BJ, so glad Charlie is helping you recover and that you have the use of your hand again. Have a wonderful time at the conference this weekend and be careful with hugs! Blessings.
Carol,
I’ll tell Mom Peep to be careful with hugs. That’s a good one to remember. She isn’t healed completely…yet.
Wiggles to you,
Charlie Bear
