Charlie Bear here.

Ever wonder, like I do, if people are talking to themselves?

walking

Happens all the time. I’m out on a walk with Mom Peep and we see somebody walk by us and they’re talking a mile a minute (that’s an old expression, huh?). Anyway, this person is ALONE. There’s not a soul in sight.

Sigh. We look closer and discover they’re on some kind of headphone thing. Or ear pods. Or some crazy device that lets them talk and walk (or drive or eat or watch tv or type on the computer) all at the same time.

Crazy, huh? Mom Peep and me were talking about it the other day (well, she was talking, I was listening and nodding my furry head) about how years ago if you saw someone talking to themselves you wondered who in the world they were talking to.

Not anymore. Now Mom is startled (she shouldn’t be) when someone is talking loudly in the grocery store, or in line to buy tickets for a movie, or at the gas station buying gas and they’re on one of these:

headphones for ipod shuffle

Golly, times have changed, huh? And Mom Peep gave in to the trend. When she got her new Smart Phone it came with wireless earplug things that go around her neck and when she gets a call she plugs one of the ear buds into her ear and she talks just like that, without picking up her phone and carrying it around in her hand stuck up by her ear.

bluetooth headset

Ahhh….technology. I’m not surprised now when Mom walks around the house and talks out loud. She’s not always talking to me, but I look up anyway, just in case. And then if she’s not engaging with me, I go back to sleep.

So there you have it. New things in the world. What’s new in your world and have you learned to adapt? Has it come easy or is it hard for you?

Wiggles and woofs to you,

Well CB, my peeps got a “Blue Tooth”, she looked & looked at it but could never figure it out. She said! she thought Teeth were supposed to be mostly white; maybe a little yellow as hers are, The Dentist said that was age coloring. She can’t figure out the “Blue Tooth” though, gotta wait til someone comes around that does know something about ‘That Blue Tooth’ thingy!! Yes technology is pretty cool but for her me thinks she should have started eons ago!! “Merry Christmas” CB, MoM & PoP PeePS and ‘Take Care!!

      Beaugie and Peeps,
These techno thingies are weird for sure. So many gizmos and gadgets. Give me good warm hugs and a scratch on the tummy and I’m a happy doggie!
      Woofs atcha too!

Bailey Hubler here, Charlie Bear. Sad to say, my mom peep does talk out loud when no one else is around, and she’s NOT talking on the phone. The poor lady needs prayer! (It’s scary!) LOL

      Bailey,
All Mom Peeps do that, I think. It’s in their nature. We’ll pray for all of them (and while we are at it, let’s pray for ourselves, too). Why not, huh?
      Have a good holiday, Bailey.

Tell your Mom Peep she’s way ahead of me! I think it looks like a really neat idea but I’ve never tried it!

And I’m like Shawnelle. I love my smart phone!!

      Julie,
It’s just like a blue tooth…only it wraps around her neck instead of just sticking in her ear. She loves it, and it makes her look futuristic to me…like a Star Trekkie or something.

Oh, I tell you, I am slow on the tech thing. But my boys are great teachers. I just broke down and got a smart phone a year ago – and I have to admit…I love it!

      Shawnelle,
Aren’t smart phones great? Only my Mom Peep says they sometimes make her look “dumb” … go figure. She’s figuring things out slowly, like life should be taken, right?
