Charlie Bear here.

I’ve figured out who I am!

I’m a lap dog.

CB March 2012.1

I’m an Indy Race runner.

Charlie Bear after Bath 002

I’m a rescue that came with some issues.

Charlie Bear (2)

I started out as one feisty, bullheaded, spunky monkey, but now Mom and Dad Peep call me loving and funny and calm and “a good dog.” I love those words…a good dog.

So that’s me. How about you? Do you know who you are?

If you’ve started out as something and you want to change, take it from me that it can happen. You just gotta want it.

Wiggles and Woofs,
Charlie Bear

Well Charlie Bear here is your lookalike Beaugie who shares the same issues as you, temperament as well as looks. I also woke up my peeps a few nights ago with my incistient barking, they checked but never saw anything, but it did not stop me until they finally gave me a treat and let me into my peep moms room, then all was good the rest of night. Yes, rescue dogs and cats(sometimes) rock and make the best lap dogs, and companions also.

      Beaugie,
You are a lucky puppy. Treats AND sleeping in Peep Mom’s room. You rock.
Wiggles and woofs to you, and rock on,

      Julie,
It did take me a while to turn my bad experiences into good, but I’m proud to say I did it (pretty much so). The other night I barked up a storm in my room at 2:00 in the morning. See…I could sense (even though the shades were drawn and no windows were open) the large white cat that comes around our backyard. I just knew she was there and so I just had to tell her I was aware! Mom and Dad weren’t too pleased with me, but they understood after they saw what I was barking at!
Yup, I’m a guard dog, too!
Woofs and wiggles to you, Julie,

    Hi Charlie,
This is Kimi. I have a story just like yours almost!! I was returned to the animal shelter by my original “parents” because I was too wild. Dad Dave came and picked me because I was jumping higher than the other dogs…And I was next to be…well, euthani… I can’t say it.
Well, I was pretty wild. Dad, Mom and my 2 human brothers never gave up. They really loved me, cleaned up after me, taught me, and never gave up. NEVER.
I am now 9 years old with a torn left ligament in my back leg but they still love me and baby me. I am sooooooo lucky Dad picked me.
I am a German shepherd /border collie mix. I think I am a lap dog, but Mom isn’t too happy when I sit on her….or try to.
    Shelter dogs rock!
    Hugs to you, Charlie!!!

      Kimi,
Yes, shelter and rescue dogs DO rock! You’re a fine example of what Peep love can do. Kudos to your family for picking you, loving you, and never, ever giving up on you. And kudos to you, Kimi, for learning and loving right back.
