Have you seen that commercial that aired for the first time on Super Bowl Sunday? The one about Weego, the rescue dog? It’s amazing and awesome. And you know what’s even better? Tiny Weego is a REAL RESCUE DOG!
This dog doesn’t just play a rescue dog on TV, he IS a rescue dog. He hit the jackpot when a great owner, who also happened to be an exceptional trainer, brought him home one day. Weego’s natural talent and the skills of the trainer led Weego on an incredible journey.
But even better? Many eyes have been opened to the plight of rescue dogs. And one more better yet? For every “like” Weego receives on his Facebook Page, Bud Light will donate $1 (up to $250,000) to Tony La Russa’s Animal Rescue Foundation, ARF. Now that’s something we can all celebrate–more dogs finding great homes!

I think use ‘dog usperstars’ to promote people’s rescue and adoption actions will have a really good effect. BUt it should be non-profit, if people uses this as a way to make money, audeince will not believe it and the costs of adoption will be higher. That is not what we want to see. Media is really an important way to change people’s attitue and promote people’s action.
I sent Beaugie’s pic to you yesterday, he is on FB, can you pull him off there and if you can’t i’ll try to resend it with the Verizon link. He is also a “True Rescue Dog”; got him on Monday before Thanksgiving of year 2008, and Vet said his age was around 1 1/2 years. His coat of fur was full of tangles and his body full of fleas. The Humane Society made us wait for 10 days to see if he would be claimed, and i was secretely glad he was’nt for i had already fell in love with that “Bundle of Dogmanity”, and could hardly wait to bring him home to his ‘Forever Home’. Finally the day came when we could get him, but first he had to stop by the Vets and get his pride taken care of first. Finally he came ‘HOME’ where he has been ever since. He has had a few issues and still has a few, but he has turned out to be a very good, loving and as dogs go he is a very good & loving dog. It is amazing to his peeps here as to how much he resembles ‘Charlie Bear’ and when we can get his picture on here everyone can see the resemblence to each other. B.J. keep us updated on your progress of the “Rescue Dogs Album”, and thanks for all you do for the maaannnyy homeless animals around this world.

Alice and Bobbie,
I’m going to go over to Facebook and see if I can copy that adorable photograph of Beaugie. He does look tons like Charlie Bear! Thanks for the great info on Beaugie and we’ll put him on the schedule for the Featured Rescue Dogs Album for sure!

Going right now to “like” Weego! How cool is that! He’s really a rescue dog. 🙂
Julie,
Charlie Bear and I were shocked to learn little Weego was a real rescue dog. Who would have thought? But he sure is cute, and what a cool spokesdog for rescue!
Hugs & woofs,
