Hi, Charlie Bear here, with featured rescue dog Shadow. I’ll let Shadow tell her own story:
“Hi, Charlie Bear…I’ve woofed with you before. I’m Shadow and I came to my forever home a couple of years ago. Sadie was already there a few months before I showed up, but it didn’t take long for us to become great friends.
Issues? Well, the best thing I like is to follow my peeps…if I can walk in their shadow (that’s why they call me Shadow, I guess) that’s the very bestest!
I was naughty the other day. I DO NOT like to be inside a house except to be close to my people but the other day no one was home but me, Sadie, and the cats and since one of my peeps had left the window open about 8 inches, I decided to see if I could get in the house that way instead of the door. It wasn’t cold, and I’m a cold weather dog so I wasn’t being abused or anything. Anyhows, I managed, though I did tear the screen. I was proudly waiting on the rug they have for me by the door when they came home. Sure fooled them – they thought someone had broken into the house and it was me. They love me though, so I only got a scolding.

Charlie Bear again. I know her Peep, Marianne, loves Shadow to pieces (she tells me so on blog comments). I’m happy to feature Shadow, a rescued dog now in a great home. We have more rescued dogs to feature. Stay tuned.
Wiggles & Woofs,
Charlie Bear
Nice to meet you, Shadow. Thanks for sharing your friend’s story, Charlie Bear. Makes me smile.
Clyde
Thanks, Clyde & Julie!
Happy to bring you great stories about rescue dogs that find forever homes! Like me!

Charlie Bear
Well, Charlie Bear i’m back again, and yep, i didn’t get your tip in time to keep me from trying to get in the house through the screen again. It was a stormy day this afternoon, and yes, my peeps were gone, but they didn’t leave the window open far enough. i tried to open it enough to get in, but ended up ripping the screen in two windows. And i’m still here…but i’m a little worried. Do you think it would help if i stick really close to my favorite peep as soon as she gets home from her weekend to see her relatives?
i hit the send button before i said…i was Shadow.
Hey, Shadow,
We’d know you anywhere!
Woofs,
Charlie Bear
Shadow,
Maybe you are just upset that your Peep is not at home, like she usually is. Is that why you are trying to get in…to find her? I’m a little out of sorts myself. My Dad has been away on a trip for three days and I’m starting to get worried. Today I spun and chased my tail like crazy and caused Mom to be worried too. I didn’t want her to worry. She cuddled me and told me everything would be all right and now I’m on her lap while she’s typing. Dad will be home later today. How about your Mom? Yes, I would stick close to her and lick her and kiss her a lot when she gets home. Good luck.

Charlie Bear
Hi, Charlie Bear, It’s nice to meet another “one of us.” Woof. Skippy and Bailey.
Skippy and Bailey —
Yes, they are “one of us” — the chosen ones!
Woofs & Wiggles,
Charlie Bear
Hi Charlie Bear;
Glad to see you have a new friend, or is it really a new one?
Be sure and let hawdow read this now.
Shadow you know your peeps love you for if not they probably would have promptly just tossed you right back out that window you so sneckiedly climbed in while they were away. You best do not try any such “Tom Foolery Tricks” when they are away next time.
Charlie Bear you keep the little stories about yourself, friends and Peeps coming for we all love getting & reading them. It gets awful lonely here since Piper went across ‘Rainbow Bridge’… I sure wish they would get me another playmate but maybe they will some day when they can get more able to care for one. My Mom Peep is so up in years (i’d better not say ‘OLD’) and my sister Peep has to have surgery to get a hip replacement so we don’t see another pet in sight but it sure is lonely here..
Well all you take care now.
Woofs & Hugs,
Beaugie!!
Beaugie,
You know — I’m thinkin’ the same thing. Sometimes I wish I had a playmate. After Rex left, like your Piper left, it is lonely. Then sometimes I’m glad I’m an only dog cause I get all the lovin’ I want. So it’s a tough choice, but, alas, not mine to make. Maybe someday for both of us?
Until then,
Woofs & Wiggles back at ya,
Charlie Bear
