I have sent a picture of my dog Billy, What a joy he is. I would classify him as a successful dog. He is entertaining, housebroken since 6 months, no excessive barking, plays with toys, is hyper only when visitors stop by. After a while he will calm down and sleep. Billy is also a good car rider, in other words he is very obedient.

He was not bred to be this way, any dog left to his own devises will act like a child in their terrible twos. It was all our doing. We set up schedules, socialized, and we were strict without being rough. He will not dash out of a door, except if he sees a squirrel when we open the door. All the training that we did in the very beginning and no longer have to do has made Billy a pleasant dog to be around. If you train in the beginning you will love your dog even more then when you first got him/her. So many dogs are put up for adoption because we did not do the training in the beginning. There are some knot-heads out there and no matter what we do they will never learn, but don’t get a dog and expect him to just know what to do. Start with the three S’s= scheduling, socializing, and be a little strict. Then be repetitions, give good boy treats and he will catch on. Some faster then others. They will only get away with what you let them do. The whole thing about having a dog is to enjoy him and give lots of love and you will get lots of love.

Billy is awesomely cute! Thanks so much for sending in his pic. I’ll be posting them on the blog in the next few weeks. You did all the right things, Bren, and you are reaping the benefits of a well-behaved dog that is a joy to have around. Kudos!
