Hello, B.J.!! I have that exact picture on my refrigerator! One of my students gave it to me because I use stories about our dogs as examples when describing writing techniques! I think that describes how much our dogs have meant to me! I love the picture, btw. 🙂

      Cathy,
You have great taste in pictures! Loving a dog is loving from the deepest part of our soul. At least my dogs have touched me in that way. Unconditional, of course. Extremely giving, at the least. Boundless joy at every moment, remarkable.
      Woofs to you!

Well, Charlie, our dogs mean different things to me. Ellie shows me how to be tough and fearless–even when you don’t look (or even feel) tough and fearless. She’s so tiny and barks so loud. Sometimes at nothing.

Clyde, teaches me about loyalty. And strength. And determination. He was hit twice in one day by the same car. But he made it. He survived.

Great discussion question. Be sure to tell your mom peep I liked it!

    xoxo

      Woof, woof, Julie!
That Clyde is a toughie. I don’t think I’d have made it if a car hit me twice. What a blessing for your family that he’s a big guy.
I can relate more to little Ellie. I’m tough and fearless, too; well, at least on the outside. Inside I’m probably full of fear but I try not to show it.
I do show lots of love to mom and dad peep, just like your Clyde and Ellie do to you guys.

Watching my children welcome rescue Crosby into their multi-kitty family has been like watching a miracle gift of love… And seeing our friend suffer through the pain and loss of his wife last year with his best friend Bear has been sweet and inspirational. We need our dogs even more than they need us. A beautiful God gift to all of us.
