Charlie Bear here with a revelation.

They say “summertime, and the living is easy” — well, I have to disagree. Summertime and the living is not easy.

It’s H E C T I C ! There are so many things going on that life is crazy.

Take for instance, the fact that kids are out of school. They play basketball in driveways, ride bicycles around on the streets, splash and holler in swimming pools, and listen to loud music til all hours of the night.

Then there are the celebrations. Memorial Day, Flag Day, 4th of July, Labor Day. There’s a day off during the week and the mail doesn’t arrive into the box like it should.

The trash trucks usually come around on Wednesdays and the street sweepers on Thursdays, but when there are holidays, their schedule is off by a day.

So what does this all mean? My routine is totally and completely disrupted. Up in the air. Thrown to the wind.

And you know what? For all the times when it gets to me, it also makes me happy. Mom and Dad Peep are around more when they have days off work and I even get to go swimming sometimes, there’s more activity in the neighborhood to watch and admire as kids grow up and mature (well, sometimes they mature), and those trash trucks and street sweepers will do their duty no matter what day it is and to heck with whether it throws me off a little.

So I’m adjusting. Some days are better than others. I’m working on going with the flow.

You?

Charlie Bear, You really don’t have a/c? I almost bet your peep mom & dad does, you could not stand it here in GA. if you didn’t, you would not “Adjust Go with the flow” around here with no a/c. You live it up as you can but “Stay Happy”!!

      Beaugie,
Nope. We don’t have a/c. Not in this house. None at all. We do have ceiling fans in almost all the rooms. Reason is we live near enough to the ocean that we get breezes and it keeps it cool most of the time. When it is very hot, we run those fans at top speed. Whrrrrrr! We’re happy, just like you!

Hey, Charlie Bear, your thoughts sound a whole lot like my dad! Have you been woofing with him?

Charlie, Is that a recent picture of you? No wonder summer isn’t easy for you! You need a haircut to be cooler. At least if the humdity where you are is as bad as it is here….

I’m having a hard time adjusting to the humdity. All I want to do is stay in air conditioning.

      Hi Susan,
Thanks for caring about me! I’m like a poodle with the curliest hair when I’m wet. Sorry you have so much humidity. Not that much here and that’s good because we don’t even have air conditioning!
