Charlie Bear here and guess what it’s doing today? Yup. It hardly ever rains in Southern California (you all know that song, right?) but it came down last night and again this morning.

Mom Peep gets headaches from the atmospheric change when it rains. Do any of you get that? She marvels at the night-piercing lightning and the house-shaking thunder, and she counts the seconds between when the lightning flashes until the thunder booms. She says it tells her how far away the storm is but I don’t know if that’s in miles or in blocks or what.

Do you like the rain? I don’t. My paws, my fur, my face, they all get wet. Mom has to towel dry me, which I don’t like. I used to put up a really big fuss but I’ve learned to let her have her way with me for just a few seconds, then I walk away. Rex the big dog LOVED the rain. Stood out in it for minutes at a time and seemed to relish the patter of wet plops on his face. Me, nope. Go outside, do my thing, then dash back in.

Do you handle the rain like these guys:

Or like me?

Wiggles and Shakes to you,
Charlie Bear

I’m not a big fan of the rain. Well, at least not driving in it or wiping off wet dogs. My fur kids don’t really like the rain either. Puts a stop to play time/walks = stir crazy pups!

No Charlie Bear, I do not like the rain either I get up close as I can to the first human kined I can get to and I stay there until it all gets gone. I do not particularly mind the “Wet Stuff”, but am not going to voluntarly get out in it just don’t mind the pitter patter that much, but no thunder or lightening for me.

      Alice and Beaugie,
I hear you about getting up close to a human during rain or thunderstorms. I like to cuddle all the time anyway!

Interesting question, Charlie Bear. Cooper got frightened of thunder as he got older, which is weird because he wasn’t afraid as a young dog. Clyde says to tell you, so far, he’s not afraid of bad weather. Sorry your mom peep has migraines with weather changes. 🙁

Julie and Clyde and Cooper over the Rainbow Bridge,
I think that, like people, us dogs become sensitive to things as we get older. Young buck Clyde has a ways to go (like me) and right now I’m not afraid of no thunder or lightning either! Thanks for the well wishes for Mom Peep. When the clouds clear up, her head clears up. Go figure.
      Woofs to you and Clyde,
      Charlie Bear
